I just finished reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold a few days ago. It is a story about Susie Salmon, a 14-year-old girl who was raped and murdered and is now watching her family and friends from "her heaven". It is absolutely heartbreaking, but so wonderfully written. I cried. More than once. But it is such an uplifting story. I literally wanted to somehow go through the pages of the book and give this family a big giant hug and cry with them.
Now I'm taking a little break from fiction and reading up on my toddler books (early potty training, anybody?)
